July 4th, 2015!

Dodger: Woo-hoo! It's the 4th of July! Independence Day!

Lilly: Happy 239th birthday, United States!

Dodger: As you celebrate today, remember to pray for our nation, and thank God for the gift that is freedom!

Lilly: Thank you, to all who've fought to defend that freedom!

Dodger: Have a great day! I'm gonna go light some firecrackers. Remember, Jesus loves you, and that will never change!

Lilly: Happy 4th!

Why we need Jesus.

We sin. "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
Our sin makes us deserving of death. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" Romans 5:12 (KJV)
But God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ for us. John 3:16
He died on the cross. John 19
But He rose again! John 20
Now we can be saved by His grace, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" Romans 3:23-24 (NKJV)
We just need to believe that He is the Son of God, that He died, took away our sins, rose again, and lives as Lord of all! The Bible says "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (NKJV)
Want this free gift? Tell Jesus you've sinned, but that you believe that He died for your sins and rose again, and that you believe He can take them away, and confess Him as your Lord and Savior (Kind of like ackowledging Him as your King)! If you said this, and really meant it, then congratulations on your new life, and on the new you! You become a new person when you accept Jesus Christ, as it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Now you should talk to a parent, or to someone you trust, about the decision you just made.
